Missouri Teen Addiction Hotline

Missouri Teen Substance Abuse Helpline

Like many states, Missouri has experienced issues with teenage substance abuse. Common substances abused by teenagers include alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs (such as opioids), methamphetamine, and other illicit drugs.

Teenagers may engage in substance abuse due to various risk factors, including peer pressure, family history of substance abuse, trauma, stress, mental health issues, lack of parental supervision, and easy access to drugs or alcohol.

Teenage substance abuse can lead to a range of negative consequences, including impaired academic performance, increased risk of accidents and injuries, legal problems, mental health issues, and a higher likelihood of developing addiction in adulthood.

Missouri has implemented prevention and intervention efforts to address teenage substance abuse. These initiatives often focus on raising awareness about the risks associated with substance abuse, promoting positive coping skills, and providing support to teenagers and their families.

There are treatment options available across Missouri to help teenagers struggling with substance abuse. These may include counseling, therapy, support groups, outpatient programs, and residential treatment centers.

Missouri offers helplines and resources for individuals seeking help with substance abuse issues. The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provide information and assistance for those in need. If you need immediate medical attention, call 911 Now.
